With African Violets, it’s super easy to make baby plants from momma leaves. Just cut off some leaves from your parent plant (leave the stem as long as you can) and place them in a small vase or shot glass of water. For best results replace that water once per week or so. After a few weeks you’ll see roots and baby plants at the base of the stem. Plant those leaves in individual small pots, leaving the baby plants just barely below the dirt, and after a few more weeks they will begin to push above the soil. Once they are large enough, you can de-pot the whole group, cut off the mama leaf, and cut the babies apart with a sharp little knife (leaving, if you can, some root on each one). Plant each of the babies in its own little pot and watch after them carefully until they start to take root and grow. You can also save the mama leaf and put her back in the vase for more baby making!
(Propagation by cutting is an age old way to grow plants and share them with friends and family. I should mention here though, that weird as it may sound, some plants are actually legally trademarked creations. This being said, you should probably not propagate certain varieties. You may want to check the label of any plant that you want to try and propagate to make sure that there’s no copyright or trademark listed.)
