A few weeks back a couple of my friends went on a moonlight hike (yeah, I would just break my legs and face if I tried that) on one of the hills looking down on the Eugene area. They took a picture of the city lights with the moon setting in the background, but since it was just shot by hand on a cell phone and was not easy to capture, the photo itself turned out to look like some weird painting. I had to try painting it!
I was definitely not sure I liked the outcome at first, but it’s definitely grown on me a little. I think that I captured the yellow of the artificial lights vs the stark white of the moonlight. (Acrylic on canvas.)
