Say hello to my little friend! This painting was inspired by a close encounter of the arachnid kind. Walking outside to get the mail one sunny morning not too long ago, I walked full speed, face first into an occupied orb weaver web. There was a scream (from me, I didn’t hear one from the spider) as the poor web occupant went spinnerette-over-teakettle down my front, and my glasses flew 10 feet across the driveway and crashed into the parked car. I have no idea what happened to the spider, and he’s probably very lucky that I didn’t see him scuttling away. We all know how that would have ended. As it turns out, it ended in a pair of web-wrapped, scratched glasses, and a somewhat frightening (yet cute?) painting. 😀
